Still Asking "What's the Best Job for Me?"

xThink back to your childhood days for a moment. Remember the "What-do-you-want-to-be-when-you-grow-up" question? Some of us wanted to be doctors or police officers or lawyers or ballet dancers. Of course, as we got older, our career choices may have changed and our passions for what we thought were our life's mission may have turned out to be something entirely different.

Even so, for many of you -- recent college graduates, those in mid-career or looking to reenter the workforce after an extended absence, and even retirees looking to go back to work -- that central question remains: Just what should I be doing career-wise? That's where I and my team at OccupationProfessor aim to help. I created OccupationProfessor.com to help those of you who need guidance and help in figuring out what the best career option or options are for you, based on your skill set, interests and training.

In my two decades of career mentoring, interviewing, coaching and testing, I've met or assessed some 15,000 people in a variety of industries to match the best candidate for the best job. With that experience, I created OccupationProfessor to help you think about your talents and interests in a way that will make it clearer to you about what you career or careers you should think about pursuing.

To get started, you'll need to sign up for a membership. That gains you access to all of our tools and professional expertise, ranging from a career quiz to personalized, one-on-one guidance and help with assessing your abilities. We have two membership levels, Basic and Enhanced. Basic membership costs $75 and with that, you will receive a career assessment quiz, the results of which will help create our occupation-match generator. With that match generator, you'll get a detailed guide that gives you your best career options and potential jobs based on your career quiz and online career assessment.

At the Enhanced level, which is $124 -- an additional $49 over Basic -- you will get all of those features plus one-on-one, Q&A time with me or my staff. You can ask up to five questions based on your individualized results to discuss our assessments of you and possible next steps. Or, you might want to discuss some of our specific careers and vocations we feel best match your skills and your passions. This will be your opportunity to get more details about specific careers, why we feel they're vocations you should consider and why they best match your personality profile based on our assessment results.

Joining is really quick and easy; all you have to do is go to our home page and click on the "purchase a membership" link to sign up. If you opt to sign up for a Basic membership and then decide switch to the higher level, that's perfectly fine; you can always upgrade when you want. Our membership payments are processed through Amazon Payments so you will need to use your Amazon account. (If you don't already have one, it' very easy to set up on Amazon.com.)
